Low emission zone

The city of Heilbronn is doing its part to ensure a healthy, sustainable environment and has established a low-emission zone as part of its clean-air initiative to reduce air pollutants by restricting motorized vehicle traffic. Only low-emission vehicles with a valid sticker (according to the applicable restriction in effect) are allowed to enter the low-emission zone. Currently, this is the green sticker.

The following areas lie outside the low-emission zone:

  • Biberach
  • Kirchhausen
  • Neckartalstraße
  • Industrial park Böllinger Höfe and
  • the old industrial park in the north of Heilbronn.

In some special cases, an exception can be made and a permit can be issued to lift the driving restriction, However, such a permit requires exceptional grounds and is subject to strict criteria. The stickers are available Germany wide. Stickers are issued at emission testing locations, such as certified car dealerships, TÜV, Dekra, etc., and the vehicle registration office.
