Youth integration courses
The youth integration courses are language courses for young people with an immigration background between the ages of 16 and 27 years who have already mastered the Latin alphabet. The aim of the youth integration course is to increase their chances of finding a job or training placement.
The course consists of 1000 hours. The duration depends on their respective language proficiency level. With no prior knowledge of the German language, you will need approximately 10 months to complete it. You can take a placement test at the institute offering the course. The course is concluded by an examination “German test for immigrants” Deutschtest für Zuwanderer – DTZ) at the B1 level and costs €1.95 per hour of the course. If you successfully complete the course within 2 years, you will be reimbursed 50% of the cost. You do not have to pay, if:
- You collect unemployment benefits (Arbeitslosengeld II)
- You collect subsistence or
- You collect some other form of financial support.
You can submit your application to the provider of the course for e.g. admission to the course or exemption from costs.
