Settlement permit

A settlement permit allows you to work in Germany. The settlement permit is permanent. To receive one, you have to hold a residence permit usually for 5 years, be able to independently and sufficiently support your own living expenses and those of your family, be sufficiently proficient in the German language (B1) and provide proof of the successful completion of an integration course. In exceptional cases, for example, for highly qualified immigrants, a settlement permit may be issued without temporal requirements.
