BUGA 2019

The National Garden Show Heilbronn 2019 lays the cornerstone for the new city district Neckarbogen
Every two years horticulture enthusiasts flock to a different German city to attend the National Garden Show. And the next Bundesgartenschau will be hosted by Heilbronn from April 17 to October 6, 2019, which will also serve as a catalyst to transform the old, centrally located former industrial area into a new vibrant urban district. The new urban district will make up the core of the Garden Show, a first in the nearly 70-year history of the Bundesgartenschau, which will be both a garden and an urban exhibition at the same time. Up to 700 people will already be living in the 22 densely arranged residential and commercial buildings during the Garden Show. A youth hostel will also be in operation. The urban center will continue to grow beyond 2019 and will be developed into the city district Neckarbogen. It will blossom into a vibrant urban center along the river bank of the Neckar where up to 3,500 people will live and 1,000 people will work. As a city with short commute distances, the Neckarbogen is a model for future inner-city living.
